Lately I've been feeling super anxious because I am leaving New York, although is just for two months, and I know it's going to be amazing, it seems a lot of time right now. But before my return to Uruguay I am going to another place, so tomorrow don't forget to check in my Instagram account because I am revealing the new location before my return! One of the best things about being in a fashion faculty like Parsons is that your friends get to do your clothes! This skirt and shirt is done by David Cañedo, the man who does it all, not only the garment but he is also my dearest photographer for the last couple of sessions. What I love the most is the shirt he did, because I feel its super feminine and different. Remember how I said before that white over white is the new tendency? Well this is a cool idea on how you can pull the trend! If you are wondering where the photos were taken, it's actually almost in the financial district in the supreme court of the United States building. If you haven't gone there yet you should! And last but not least the make up and hair I decided to wear it super simple so the look can be stronger.

Ultimamente me estoy sintiendo super ansiosa y nerviosa ya que estoy por dejar por primera vez por tanto tiempo mi vida en Nueva York, y por mas que suene que no hace tanto que estoy acá, me acostumbre al ritmo de vida de aquí rápidamente. Ya termine mis exámenes finales y aun así siento que tengo que seguir trabajando y corriendo a todos lados. De todas maneras me super emociona volver a mi hogar, pero antes de retornar a Uruguay estén atentos a wilhelmina en instagram porque voy a revelar el nuevo destino antes! 

Una de las mejores partes de estar en una facultad de moda como Parsons es que tus amigos te hacen la ropa. Si aunque no lo crean este conjunto espectacular lo hizo un gran amigo, David Cañedo, quien no solo hace piezas tan lindas como esta, sino que también el fue mi fotógrafo las ultimas sesiones. Se acuerdan como les conte la vez pasada que una de las ultimas tendencias es usar blanco sobre blanco para este verano? Bueno esta es una manera super relajada de incorporar la tendencia!

                It's been almost a year since I first started my blog!! I can't believe how time flies. Since I first started, I have gone through so many changes, so many positive things came along in my journey and most importantly I grew up signficiantly. I started in Uruguay, until I decided to come to Parsons in New York to continue my studies in the fashion business.  I've had the pleasure to do some interviews for the amazing Tulle and Glitter and Fashion By He, I met a lot of influential people in the fashion industry that pushes and inspires young designers in such a way that I never seen before. I think I'm still processing all the changes that I've been through.
  One of my resolutions that I learned over the last year is that don't be scared of doing what you truly love, and I know this might sound a little bit cliche but, how many people does what they love without thinking how much money they are going to do? Also another important advice is that  if you want to make it into the fashion industry, and I am not just referring to design (because there's a huge variety of areas in which you could create and add to the industry) you have to make a lot of contacts, and not just for the sake of being better than others, believe me when I say that there's enough place for everyone, if you are passionate about what you do. But because fashion it is an industry in where you have to know what you are doing, you can't just walk in without knowing anything and criticize, fashion, since fashion is a pure form of art.
    Because It's been a year since I first started, I decided to change a little bit the setting of my beloved New York background into a studio. The skirt is from Topshop and I am in love with it! I just want to wear it all the time. You can style it with a more formal tank top like I did for going out at night or you could easily tone it down with a simple shirt for the day. Make up also plays a big role in here because with the red lips you just make the whole look stand up. I am usually more fond of nude lips nowadays, but every once in a while I like to pop the outfit with strong lipstick colors.

     Ya esta llegando la fecha en la que se  cumple 1 ano desde que tengo el blog, no puedo creer como vuela el tiempo! Desde que empece a trabajar con el blog, muchas cosas positivas surgieron en el proceso, pero lo mas importante es como crecí personalmente. Empece como ya sabrán en Uruguay y decidí seguir con mis estudios en la industria de la moda en Parsons, Nueva York. Tuve el placer de conocer gente altamente influenciable e inspiradora en la industria de la moda que elevan y ayudan a un montón de jóvenes diseñadores de una manera que nunca había visto anteriormente. Siempre cuando pensaba en venir aquí a seguir lo que quería pensaba en la industria como un lugar aterrador en el cual iba a ser super difícil avanzar. Si es cierto es muy difícil, pero como todo y los contactos que haces son sin duda una de las cosas mas importantes en mi trabajo pero les puedo asegurar que la gran mayoría están para ayudarse el uno al otro. Otro consejo que les quiero dar es que hagan lo que realmente les apasione, y por mas cliche que suene les puedo asegurar que la gran mayoría de la gente no lo hace por miedo en ámbitos económicos, pero si de verdad tienen el talento, les aseguro que no hay dudas que les va a ir sensacional.
    Porque ya hace 1 ano desde que empece quise hacerlo en un fondo neutro en vez de en las calles de Nueva York como típicamente hago. Esta falda que estoy usando es de Topshop y estoy totalmente obsesionada con ella! La pueden usar con un top como el que llevo puesto en las fotos que es un poco mas formal, probablemente para una cita o algo, o lo pueden combinar con una remera mas relajada y el outfit se convierte fácilmente para el día! El maquillaje también juega un rol importante en este caso. Aunque últimamente soy fan de los labios color piel y enfocarme mas en lo ojos, para cambiar un poco decidí ponerme un color rojo bien fuerte que creo que en este caso es muy efectivo.

The perfect two ♡

                                     New York has art everywhere and in every single form you can imagine, hunting for wall paintings and not just street art, is definitely one of my favorite things to do here in the city. This painting is as you MUST all know portraying Karl Lagerfeld facing my absolute woman crush Anna Wintour. Lagerfeld is a german born designer with one of the most influential careers in the fashion industry contributing to high end brands like; Chanel, Fendi and Chloe and of course his own personal brand Lagerfeld. Wintour a british born, who works as the editor in chief for Vogue here in the United States has not only made and continue to make a marvelous job with the magazine, but also as a style icon in every single event, wherever she makes an appearance everyone turns their faces to her, she is our generation icon without a doubt. In case you didn't know, do you guys remember the movie The Devil wears Prada? one of her ex assistents produced it, inspired when she worked hand in hand with Anna Wintour! I could really talk about these two all day, they are the epiphany of fashion.
For my outfit I decided to wear a crop top that is super flexible and you could wear it to multiple places. The pattern pants matching the shirt are a very cool pattern that is super IN this season, leaving us with the preferred winter color that was all season a must have; blue.

                              Nueva York tiene arte por doquier y en cualquier formato que imaginen, encontrar paredes llenas arte y no solo arte callejero, es definitivamente una de las tantas cosas que me encanta hacer aquí en la Gran Manzana. Esta pared tiene a dos de los mas grandes en la industria de la moda y si les interesa esta industria TIENEN que saber a quienes me refiero; Karl Lagerfeld mirando a la increíble Anna Wintour. Lagerfeld nacido en Alemania es uno de los hombres con mas influencia en la industria, trabajo para varias marcas altamente reconocidas como; Chanel, Fendi y Chloe y por supuesto para su propia marca Lagerfeld. Wintour nacida en Gran Bretaña es una escritora, periodista que ejerce como directora en jefe en la reconocida revista Vogue en los Estados Unidos. Anna Wintour no solo ha logrado un trabajo extraordinario para la revista, sino también como icono de moda generacional. Uno queda congelado con respeto y admiración después de verla aparecer en desfiles y eventos, no hay nadie que no la mire, es simplemente única. En caso de que no supieran, se acuerdan de la increíble película "El diablo viste a la moda"? una de sus ex asistentes la realizo luego de trabajar con ella. Podria hablar de ellos dos toda mi vida sin parar son simplemente el sueño de la moda.
Para mi conjunto estoy usando un top que es muy versátil para usar en distintas ocasiones con un pantalón azul el colór del invierno, es como un conjunto de transición total, de invierno a primavera (aquí es primavera) hacia el verano!
